Buyers Beware

As the solar industry continues to rapidly expand with newly increased incentives, so do the number of scammers preying on unsuspecting buyers. Every day, unsuspecting solar customers fall victim to solar scams, losing thousands of dollars in the process. At Halo Solar, we want to help protect our customers from these scams and be your local long-term partner.

When it comes to solar, its important to be aware of the common scams that are out there so that you can protect yourself and your business from fraudulent activities. Here’s a list of common ‘promises’ to beware of when speaking with solar companies.

  1. One of the most common promises are companies claiming to offer “free solar panels. While it may seem like a great deal, these companies often have hidden fees or require customers to sign a long-term contract. Make sure to read the fine print carefully and watch out for any red flags.
  2. Another scam is companies offering “low-cost solar panels without disclosing the true cost of installation and maintenance. Be sure to ask about installation fees, maintenance fees, and other fees that may be associated with the purchase.
  3. Be aware of companies offering “guaranteed savings on solar panels. While solar can be a great investment, the savings can vary greatly depending on the system, location, and other factors
  4. Lastly, beware of pushy out-of-state companies. Consumers should be looking for companies who work with quality install partners. Unfortunately, we have seen out-of-state companies hiring low quality labor which leaves the consumer without a proper install or problems arise.

The Halo Solar team takes pride in our commitment to excellence and our ability to provide a comprehensive service that helps our customers maximize their return on investment and strive to be a long-term partner to our customers. If you have fallen victim to one of these ‘promises’ and need assistance, contact our team at Halo Solar.
