Emily graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies. During her time at IWU, Emily gained a strong passion for environmental justice through her time abroad working with indigenous communities, and her senior research, where she aided in designating a portion of West Bloomington as an Environmental Justice Community under the Illinois Solar for All Program. After college, she moved to Spokane, Washington to pursue her interests as an Environmental Educator through Spokane County’s AmeriCorps program.
Once she completed her term of service, she moved back to Central Illinois to join the Halo team in 2022. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing the drums, being out in nature, and spending time with friends, family, and her cat Milo.
